About Us

Railroad Street Cabins LLC was formed to provide the train experience our grandson, Damion needed.  

Damion's love for trains started at about 10 mths old.  He lived near Railroad Tracks and would push the curtains or the blinds out of the way to see the trains go by.  We found out that he had many diagnoses.  Kids with special needs will thrive on different things, For Damion, it was the love of not only watching the trains go by, but hearing the train horns and watching the wheels go round.

Many of Damion's Birthday Celebrations were held in Folkston, GA at the train platform.  We always had a hard time finding a place to stay, as he wanted to be near the tracks.  We tried several of the local Airbnb's, The Inn and Hotels in the area, but he wanted to be right on the tracks.

In September 2021, we saw the property across the tracks was for sale.  We saw the possibility of purchasing the property, so Damion would have a place to stay near the tracks.  When inquiring on the building requirements, we found that we could help other families with similar accommodation needs.  We thought of several possibilities and settled on four cabins.

​

In April 2022, we established Railroad Street Cabins LLC and hosted our first guest for Spring Railwatch.

 

Currently, we have three cabins waiting for your stay in Folkston, GA.  Our fourth cabin will be handicap accessible for those with wheelchairs with a ramp going up the side of the cabin and accommodations will be made with that in mind.

We love the hometown charm, atmosphere and were pleasantly surprised 

 

at the town's Rail watch events hosted in April and December.

​

We are Damion's grandparents just helping him and many others enjoy their love for trains.
